The fastest time recorded for carving a pumpkin is 16.47 seconds, a feat achieved by Stephen Clarke in New York City on the morning of Oct. 31, 2013. Clarke broke his own previous record carving time of only 24.03 seconds. He also held the record before that, at a lengthy 54.72 seconds. In order to qualify for the record, the pumpkin that’s carved must weigh less than 24 pounds. The finished result must have a minimum of two eyes, a nose, ears and a mouth.
